Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated two landmark historical exhibitions at Koyambedu in Chennai, unveiling the comprehensive photo exhibition titled Tamil Nadu in the Freedom Struggle alongside a mobile photo exposition commemorating the sesquicentennial birth anniversary of legendary patriot Kappalottiya Thamizhan V.O. Chidambaranar. The exhibitions showcase rare archival photographs, historical documents, and artifacts illustrating Tamil Nadu pivotal contribution to India independence movement.

Addressing the gathering, Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu played a pioneering role in the freedom struggle, with patriotic stalwarts sacrificing their wealth, youth, and personal freedom decades before national mobilizations took shape. He highlighted the legendary fortitude of V.O. Chidambaranar, who challenged British imperial maritime monopoly by launching the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company, enduring brutal hard labor and imprisonment for the motherland.

The Chief Minister issued an earnest call to journalists, television networks, digital creators, and YouTube channels to popularize these priceless historical treasures, ensuring that younger generations understand and take pride in their revolutionary heritage. Stalin affirmed that remembering freedom fighters inspires modern struggles for social emancipation and democratic rights.
