Chief Minister M.K. Stalin marked a historic milestone for marginalized communities by visiting Poonjeri village in Chengalpattu district to personally distribute fundamental citizenship and welfare documents to indigenous Irular and Narikuravar families. Handing over free house-site land pattas, official caste certificates, voter identity cards, residential certificates, old-age pensions, welfare board enrollment credentials, vocational training certificates, and subsidized bank loans, Stalin brought tangible state recognition to families neglected for generations.
Describing the occasion as a day that illuminates the lives of Irular and Kuravar people, Stalin emphasized that possessing formal documentation is the foundation of civil rights, enabling access to higher education, institutional credit, and dignified employment. Rather than making these disenfranchised citizens navigate complicated bureaucratic departments, the Chief Minister directed the entire district administrative machinery to set up delivery desks directly inside their residential hamlets.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK administration is firmly rooted in social justice, committed to dismantling entrenched socioeconomic exclusion through proactive affirmative action. He announced subsidized housing construction assistance for every beneficiary family. Stalin compassionate field presence and swift administrative resolution exemplified the transformative essence of Dravidian Model governance, turning state power into an instrument of liberation for the most vulnerable.
