Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that the entire government administrative apparatus has been mobilized in full force to tackle the challenges posed by intense Northeast Monsoon precipitation across Tamil Nadu. Demonstrating active grassroots governance, Stalin personally toured flood-hit sectors across Chennai, inspecting inundated roadways, waterlogged residential colonies, and canal outfalls to review rescue operations and accelerate civic dewatering measures firsthand.
During his field inspection, the Chief Minister interacted with distressed urban residents, listened to their grievances, and assured them of immediate governmental assistance. Stalin appealed to the public to remain calm and utilize the state disaster management toll-free helpline number 1070 to register waterlogging complaints, report fallen electrical poles, or request emergency evacuation and relief supplies from municipal response units.
Stalin instructed the Greater Chennai Corporation and emergency service departments to operate without respite until floodwaters completely receded from every residential street. He directed monitoring teams to ensure that food distribution centers and mobile healthcare vans were actively functioning across all vulnerable wards. Stalin hands-on oversight and public accessibility reinforced citizen confidence in the state ability to manage severe climatic crises effectively.
