Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued an urgent directive to all DMK Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and local body representatives, instructing them to work in close coordination with district administrative authorities to execute immediate relief operations in flood-impacted areas. Concluding a series of public directives on monsoon management, Stalin emphasized that elected public servants must be physically present among affected communities rather than remaining passive observers.
The Chief Minister mandated that party representatives must prioritize the fundamental and emergency needs of displaced residents, ensuring the immediate distribution of wholesome food, safe drinking water, dry clothing, and essential pharmaceutical supplies. He directed legislators to assist municipal officials in setting up safe temporary relief camps, managing emergency community kitchens, and rescuing marooned families residing in low-lying suburban colonies.
Stalin underscored that public office represents a solemn duty of compassionate service, especially when citizens confront sudden natural calamities. He urged representatives to establish localized grievance desks in coordination with ward officials to resolve power outages and water stagnation swiftly. By mobilizing grassroots political leadership alongside the state bureaucracy, Stalin ensured a unified, compassionate relief response across every flood-affected constituency.
