Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conducted round-the-clock administrative reviews on the fourth consecutive day of heavy monsoon downpours, communicating telephonically with cabinet ministers and senior IAS monitoring officers stationed across flood-hit districts. During these discussions, Stalin issued operational directions to accelerate water pumping from inundated arterial roads, maintain uninterrupted power supply to hospitals, and ensure transparent distribution of emergency provisions in rural and coastal pockets.
Continuing his personal inspections across Chennai, Stalin visited a centralized community kitchen established in Chintadripet to supervise food preparation standards. He inspected raw grocery ingredients, reviewed hygienic cooking practices, and oversaw packaging operations to verify that hot, nutritious meals are supplied promptly to thousands of displaced residents accommodated in municipal relief centers.
Stalin emphasized to municipal authorities that disaster management requires compassionate care alongside civil engineering efforts. He instructed field volunteers and sanitary workers to prioritize food delivery to elderly citizens, nursing mothers, and children who cannot easily access distribution counters. Through meticulous telephone coordination and direct field checks, Stalin displayed hands-on governance ensuring dignity, safety, and basic sustenance for vulnerable flood victims across Chennai city.
