Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated an array of modern infrastructure facilities built under the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, including newly established agricultural extension centres, farmer rest lounges, direct sales offices, and modern academic blocks for agricultural colleges. The modern amenities aim to provide farmers with direct access to quality seeds, soil testing technology, agro-advisories, and transparent market avenues within their local revenue blocks.

During the event, the Chief Minister officially launched the 'Tamil Nadu Mission for Sustainable Green Cover in Farm Lands', an ambitious agroforestry initiative designed to distribute millions of valuable timber and fruit saplings to cultivating farmers for plantation on bunds and farm peripheries. Stalin pointed out that integrating agroforestry practices into traditional agriculture boosts farm income through valuable wood crops while expanding the state ecological tree canopy and mitigating climate vulnerabilities.

Stalin emphasized that the DMK government created a separate agricultural budget to deliver focused interventions that enhance farmer incomes and agricultural sustainability. He reiterated that supporting cultivators through modern scientific infrastructure, irrigation efficiency, and diversified tree farming creates lasting rural resilience.
