Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the newly constructed Construction and Maintenance divisional office complex of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Katpadi, Vellore district, established at an investment of 1.27 crore rupees. The modern administrative facility was dedicated to public use to streamline the planning, supervision, and execution of government civil infrastructure works across the northern regional belt.

The newly established complex provides modern office workspaces, engineering design cells, conference halls, and digital monitoring systems for engineers and administrative personnel managing state infrastructure assets. Stalin highlighted that equipping technical departments with contemporary physical infrastructure and modern administrative facilities enhances project execution efficiency, expedites structural approvals, and ensures stringent quality standards for public buildings, government hospitals, and educational institutions.

The Chief Minister stressed that public works infrastructure forms the backbone of state development, calling upon engineering teams to prioritize durable construction and prompt delivery across all public assignments. He instructed departmental authorities to maintain strict accountability and transparency in tender management and physical verification of site works.
