Commemorating the memorial day of legendary freedom fighter and pioneering maritime entrepreneur V.O. Chidambaranar, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially released two newly edited and elegantly published literary volumes: 'V.O.C. Pannool Thirattu' and 'V.O.C. Thirukkural Urai'. The book releases fulfilled an earlier announcement made by the Chief Minister during the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the national icon, pledging to re-publish all of Chidambaranar invaluable literary writings in pristine editions.
Handing over the inaugural copies at the state secretariat, Stalin paid glowing tributes to the patriot celebrated across the subcontinent as 'Kappalottiya Thamizhan' for launching the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company to challenge British imperial maritime dominance. The Chief Minister noted that beyond his legendary defiance against colonial tyranny, Chidambaranar was a profound Tamil scholar, passionate researcher, and insightful commentator whose literary commentary on Thirukkural reflects deep rationalist thought and egalitarian values.
Stalin highlighted that preserving and disseminating the intellectual legacy of freedom fighters is a fundamental cultural responsibility of the state government. He reiterated that Chidambaranar sacrifices for self-respect, national liberty, and Tamil culture will continually inspire generations. Through these refined publications, the DMK administration ensured that Chidambaranar scholarly contributions remain accessible to students, researchers, and book lovers worldwide.
