I wholeheartedly welcome Hon'ble @PMOIndia's decision to repeal the three anti-farmer laws.
History teaches us that people's wishes shall prevail in a democracy.
I congratulate all the farmers & bow down to their determination for having achieved this through Gandhian means.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a statement wholeheartedly welcoming the announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Union Government decision to repeal the three contentious farm legislations. Stalin observed that history repeatedly demonstrates that the collective democratic will and aspirations of the people must ultimately prevail in any genuine constitutional democracy, regardless of political resistance or bureaucratic inertia.
Congratulating the nationwide agrarian community on their historic victory, the Chief Minister bowed down before the extraordinary resilience, discipline, and tenacity displayed by millions of farmers who campaigned for over a year at Delhi borders. He emphasized that by adhering strictly to non-violent, peaceful Gandhian methods in the face of harsh weather, administrative crackdowns, and severe privation, the farmers established an immortal chapter in the annals of global democratic struggles.
Stalin recalled that Tamil Nadu stood firmly with the farmers from the very outset, with the DMK government enacting an official legislative assembly resolution opposing the farm laws. He noted that this triumph serves as a powerful reminder that governance must be anchored in popular consent and consultation rather than unilateral executive mandates imposed without democratic dialogue.
