Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated 20 newly constructed electrical substations built at an expenditure of 517 crore rupees and 40 high-capacity power transformers installed at an outlay of 141 crore rupees under the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). The advanced electrical infrastructure was commissioned across several districts to eliminate transmission bottlenecks, minimize distribution energy losses, and lower recurring equipment maintenance expenditures.
Speaking at the inauguration, Stalin highlighted that providing stable, uninterrupted, and quality power supply to domestic households, industrial units, and agricultural consumers is a foundational objective of his governance. The newly established substations significantly enhance regional grid stability, preventing unexpected power outages, voltage fluctuations, and transformer failures that disrupt commercial enterprises and daily citizen life across rural and semi-urban growth corridors.
The Chief Minister noted that strengthening power generation and distribution capacity is essential to support Tamil Nadu rapid industrial expansion and green energy transition. He commended electrical engineers and line workers for executing these crucial technical installations efficiently. Stalin massive capital infusion into power distribution infrastructure illustrates his administration strategic commitment to modernizing core public utilities to drive long-term socioeconomic progress across all districts.
