Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held high-level discussions with the Inter-Ministerial Central Team deputed by the Union Government to assess the widespread damage caused by severe northeast monsoon rains and flash floods across Tamil Nadu. During the meeting, Stalin submitted a detailed memorandum documenting extensive infrastructural losses, crop damage, breached water bodies, and battered roads across northern and coastal districts, requesting substantial central financial allocations.
The Chief Minister strongly urged the central delegation to recommend an immediate release of interim financial assistance to enable the state administration to carry out urgent relief, restoration, and rebuilding activities without fiscal constraints. He noted that the state machinery had already deployed substantial local resources to pump floodwaters, establish relief camps, distribute cooked food, and provide immediate solatium to affected families.
Stalin emphasized that confronting recurring extreme climate events requires generous, non-partisan support from the Union government. He urged the visiting officials to conduct objective ground inspections and submit their recommendations without bureaucratic delays. Stalin assertive presentation underscored his administration dedication to defending the state legitimate financial claims, ensuring Tamil Nadu receives its rightful federal assistance during devastating natural calamities.
