Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally handed over monthly pension sanction orders to ten beneficiaries at the state secretariat, marking the statewide rollout of financial assistance to one lakh newly identified eligible persons under various social security schemes. The Revenue and Disaster Management Department conducted a comprehensive verification drive across all districts to identify deserving destitute elderly citizens, widows, differently abled individuals, and deserted women previously excluded from pension registries.

Speaking at the launch, Stalin reiterated that delivering social security to society most vulnerable segments lies at the core of the Dravidian model of compassionate governance. He noted that regular monthly cash transfers provide crucial economic independence, dignity, and nutritional security to impoverished citizens who have no family support or regular livelihood sources during their advancing years.

The Chief Minister instructed revenue divisional officers and village administrative officers to maintain seamless doorstep pension disbursements through direct bank transfers and postal delivery. He emphasized that administrative machinery must actively reach out to destitute citizens rather than waiting for them to navigate bureaucratic hurdles.
