On the occasion of Constitution Day, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid tribute to the foundational ideals of the Indian Republic, highlighting that the Constitution of India was crafted to radiate noble principles of equality, social justice, secularism, and freedom of speech across every single page. Stalin stated that the constitutional architecture envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the founding fathers remains the bedrock of Indian democracy and national fraternity.
The Chief Minister made an impassioned appeal to all citizens and governing authorities to cherish, safeguard, and uphold the sacred Preamble of the Constitution like priceless gold. He remarked that the Preamble defines the moral conscience and democratic character of the nation, asserting that real governance must continuously defend these core constitutional values against forces seeking to dilute secularism, curtail diversity, or enforce social homogenization.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian movement has always drawn deep philosophical alignment from constitutional principles prioritizing equal rights, linguistic pluralism, federal balance, and affirmative action for disadvantaged classes. He pledged that the DMK government will persistently defend the Constitution from authoritarian overreach, preserving democratic institutions and fundamental liberties for generations to come.
