With meteorological authorities forecasting persistent heavy downpours across coastal and northern regions of Tamil Nadu over upcoming days, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a firm directive to all elected public representatives and government officials. He urged legislators, parliamentarians, local body functionaries, and administrative officers to remain stationed directly on the ground around the clock, prioritizing disaster relief and citizen safety over official routine.
Stalin stated that during extraordinary environmental emergencies, public servants must work tirelessly without watching the clock or retreating indoors. He emphasized that prompt field presence provides immense psychological reassurance to affected residents while enabling immediate resolution of civic emergencies, such as power disruptions, wall collapses, fallen trees, and severe localized stormwater stagnation in vulnerable low-lying habitations.
Leading from the front, Stalin affirmed that he, as Chief Minister, is standing alongside frontline personnel on waterlogged streets and will continue to be physically present on the field to supervise relief operations personally. He called for seamless inter-departmental synergy between revenue, police, fire and rescue, and municipal teams. Stalin hands-on leadership demonstrated an unwavering governing ethos centered on empathy, vigilance, and prompt action during crisis.
