Editorial context

Fulfilling a significant legislative assembly announcement, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated three newly established arts and science colleges founded under the auspices of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. The colleges include Arulmigu Palaniandavar Women Arts and Science College in Oddanchatram, Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy College in Vilathikulam, and Arulmigu Arthanareeswarar College in Tiruchengode.

The establishment of these collegiate institutions brings affordable, high-quality higher education directly to rural and semi-urban hinterlands. The women college in Oddanchatram specifically caters to female students from agrarian families who previously faced geographic and financial hurdles in pursuing college degrees, thereby expanding female literacy and career opportunities across Dindigul district.

Stalin highlighted that utilizing temple financial surpluses to establish educational institutions embodies the core social vision of the Dravidian movement. He noted that former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had championed using temple resources for public education, healthcare, and social welfare, ensuring that religious endowments serve the broader advancement of society.

By expanding rural educational access through departmental institutions, Stalin advanced educational democratization. His forward-looking initiative empowers rural youth with modern academic qualifications, unlocking new pathways for socioeconomic mobility across regional Tamil Nadu.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
