Observing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin delivered a stirring message asserting that real limitations exist only in narrow human mindsets, whereas physical disabilities are never an impediment to greatness. He highlighted the extraordinary achievements of differently abled individuals in sports, arts, academics, and governance, who consistently serve as inspirations for the entire nation.

Stalin recalled the pioneering contributions of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, who replaced stigmatizing terms with the respectful nomenclature 'Maatruthranaaligal' and established an exclusive administrative department to address their rights. Karunanidhi introduced landmark welfare schemes including free transport, specialized educational institutions, and disability pensions, laying a solid foundation for inclusive governance in Tamil Nadu.

The Chief Minister affirmed that his government walks proudly in Kalaignar footsteps, expanding modern welfare assistances, assistive technology devices, and reservation quotas for differently abled citizens. He pledged that public policies will continually evolve to address emerging societal needs, ensuring comprehensive support systems across all stages of life.
