Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a stern public statement condemning the wrongful actions of a state transport corporation conductor who forced a working-class fisherwoman to disembark from a government bus in Kanyakumari district. Stalin stated that such discriminatory behavior is entirely intolerable in an egalitarian society and runs counter to the fundamental ethos of his administration.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the DMK government introduced the landmark zero-fare bus travel scheme precisely to empower working women, vendors, and female students, fostering social mobility and workplace participation. While thousands of transport crew members execute this initiative with pride and empathy, Stalin emphasized that no employee has the right to treat marginalized citizens with disrespect or contempt.
Stalin called upon public servants and transport workers across Tamil Nadu to conduct their duties with a broad, inclusive mindset rooted in human dignity and equal citizenship. He reaffirmed that public transit exists to serve all working people without prejudice regarding occupation, caste, or background.
Through his decisive condemnation, Stalin reinforced high ethical standards for public administration. His empathetic intervention sent a clear message that every working woman in Tamil Nadu deserves unconditional respect and equal access to public services.
