Acknowledging the immense grief and economic hardship caused by the global pandemic, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a government order sanctioning an ex-gratia compensation of fifty thousand rupees to the next of kin of every individual who succumbed to COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu. The compassionate measure provides essential financial solace to bereaved households struggling to rebuild their livelihoods.
At a special ceremony at the Secretariat in Chennai, Stalin personally handed over compensation cheques to ten beneficiary families, formally launching the statewide disbursement drive. He directed district collectors and revenue officials to ensure the distribution process remains seamless, transparent, and completely free from bureaucratic delays, enabling grieving families to receive assistance promptly.
Stalin expressed heartfelt sympathy to families who lost their primary breadwinners during the devastating pandemic waves. He reiterated that the Dravidian Model of governance places human compassion and citizen welfare above all else, ensuring that the state functions as an empathetic guardian for vulnerable families during times of crisis.
By expediting ex-gratia relief alongside free healthcare and vaccination drives, Stalin demonstrated responsive public leadership. His compassionate intervention brought tangible reassurance to thousands of grieving families, reaffirming Tamil Nadu dedication to humanitarian social welfare.
