Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over a state-level distribution ceremony, disbursing institutional bank credit amounting to 2,750 crore rupees to benefit 7,56,142 members of women self-help groups across Tamil Nadu. The financial package provides affordable capital to women entrepreneurs managing cottage industries, agro-processing ventures, neighborhood micro-enterprises, and artisanal trade enterprises.
Speaking at the gathering, Stalin remarked on the inspiring determination displayed by women who attained self-sufficiency through self-help networks. He observed that their journeys offer invaluable lessons in resilience and financial management, inspiring thousands of aspiring rural women to pursue independent careers and economic independence.
The event marks an achievement for the state micro-credit delivery system, reinforcing grassroots banking partnerships. Under Stalin leadership, the administration has prioritized financial inclusion by expanding credit availability, waiving overdue loans, and delivering technical training to female entrepreneurs across rural districts.
Stalin reaffirmed that women financial independence forms the cornerstone of Dravidian welfare architecture. By channeling capital directly into self-help collectives, the Chief Minister drives household prosperity, reduces rural poverty, and builds an equitable economy where women participate as confident leaders in community development across the state.
