Chief Minister M.K. Stalin led a landmark welfare and infrastructure rollout in Thanjavur, opening completed government works worth 98 crore rupees, laying foundation stones for new schemes valued at 894 crore rupees, and distributing welfare assistance worth 238 crore rupees benefiting 44,000 families. Presiding over the grand government function in Tamil Nadu's historic agricultural granary, Stalin highlighted his deep emotional bond with the Cauvery delta region. He affirmed that securing the prosperity of agrarian communities forms the bedrock of his economic vision.
The newly sanctioned projects include river canal modernizations, rural drinking water installations, modern grain storage godowns, and upgraded village roads designed to boost agricultural trade. Stalin handed over agricultural loan waivers, subsidized farm equipment, and livelihood support kits to farming families and self-help groups. He noted that timely desilting of delta canals had enabled farmers to achieve record paddy production, fulfilling his administration's solemn promise to support cultivating communities.
Stalin asserted that the government will continue to protect delta lands and enhance farmer welfare with unwavering dedication. His comprehensive development package strengthened agrarian infrastructure while delivering direct economic relief to thousands of rural households.
