Chief Minister M.K. Stalin formally inaugurated fully equipped emergency medical centres across seven major temples in Tamil Nadu, delivering on a key budget pledge made by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. The department had earlier announced that dedicated healthcare clinics would be established at ten prominent pilgrim sites that witness massive footfalls year-round. Fulfilling the first phase of this policy, Stalin launched seven functional centres staffed by two qualified doctors, trained nursing personnel, and paramedical teams.
Each temple clinic is outfitted with essential diagnostic devices, life-saving medicines, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, and emergency first-aid setups to handle acute medical incidents such as dehydration, cardiac emergencies, exhaustion, and physical injuries among devotees. The remaining three medical units are undergoing final structural preparation. Stalin pointed out that integrating primary emergency care directly into temple premises provides immediate relief to visiting pilgrims, elderly devotees, and regional tourists without delay.
The initiative underscores Stalin's practical approach to public service, ensuring that temple revenues and administrative endowments directly benefit citizen well-being. By establishing dependable medical facilities at sacred public spaces, the government enhanced devotee safety and modernized pilgrimage infrastructure throughout the state.
