Chief Minister M.K. Stalin hailed the Supreme Court's landmark verdict upholding twenty-seven percent reservation for Other Backward Classes in the All India Quota seats contributed by state governments for postgraduate medical admissions, describing the judgment as a historic triumph for the DMK and the people of Tamil Nadu. Reaffirming the party's foundational commitment to social equity, Stalin declared that this legal victory vindicates the relentless courtroom struggle spearheaded by the DMK.

The Chief Minister emphasized that reservation is not an act of state charity, but a fundamental constitutional right established to dismantle historical social inequalities and secure fair educational access for marginalized backward communities. He recalled that the DMK initiated legal proceedings before the Madras High Court and pursued the matter up to the Supreme Court to ensure that OBC students receive their rightful share of surrendered medical seats across the country. Turning to future struggles, Stalin asserted that the progressive movement will vigorously challenge the economically weaker section quota.
