Chief Minister M.K. Stalin chaired an all-party meeting of floor leaders of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in Chennai, where the assembly leaders unanimously resolved to build nationwide political consensus among other Indian states against the detrimental impacts of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Reaffirming collective resistance against educational centralization, Stalin announced coordinated interstate efforts to eliminate NEET and restore admission autonomy to state governments.
The meeting deliberated on the grave disparities created by rigid entrance testing, noting that single national exams disproportionately favor affluent students who can afford commercial coaching while penalizing qualified rural candidates. Legislative leaders resolved to dispatch delegations to interact with chief ministers and political parties across various states, sensitizing them to the adverse effects of centralized testing on public health systems. The resolution urged all progressive states to unite in challenging national entrance tests that infringe upon states' rights in education.
Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu's principled stand against NEET serves as a guiding light for social justice nationwide. He pledged that the state will lead a broad national coalition to defend regional equity, federal autonomy, and accessible higher education for marginalized youth.
