Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that the all-party legislative leaders' meeting resolved to send a representative multi-party delegation to New Delhi to confer directly with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Tamil Nadu's pending demand for NEET exemption, should a formal meeting invitation be extended. Stalin underscored that united political pressure across party boundaries remains crucial to securing presidential assent for the state's unanimously passed anti-NEET legislation.
The Chief Minister reviewed earlier representations submitted to the Union Home Ministry by Tamil Nadu Members of Parliament, noting that the Union government has a constitutional duty to consider the collective will of the state legislature. The all-party conclave resolved that legislative leaders from all constituent parties will present a united memorandum to the Union Home Minister, articulating how centralized entrance examinations shatter the higher education dreams of rural students, first-generation learners, and socially disadvantaged communities.
Stalin emphasized that the demand for medical admission based on qualifying board marks is rooted in social equity and cooperative federalism. He reiterated that Tamil Nadu will pursue every democratic, parliamentary, and constitutional forum to safeguard student welfare and defend state legislative sovereignty.
