Chief Minister M.K. Stalin attended the high-profile virtual inauguration ceremony with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, dedicating eleven newly established government medical colleges across Tamil Nadu alongside the state-of-the-art Central Institute of Classical Tamil campus in Chennai. Stalin recalled that establishing a government medical college in every district was a visionary policy initiated by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to democratize tertiary healthcare.

The eleven newly inaugurated institutions, located in Virudhunagar, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Thiruvallur, Nagapattinam, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Ramanathapuram, and Krishnagiri, added 1,450 undergraduate medical seats to the state's healthcare education pool. Stalin noted that this unprecedented expansion significantly strengthens district-level clinical capacities, ensuring specialized medical treatment for rural citizens while creating opportunities for aspiring medical students from underprivileged backgrounds. He also celebrated the dedication of the permanent CICT building, honoring Karunanidhi's historic triumph in securing classical language status for Tamil.

Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu's exceptional public health achievements demonstrate the strength of visionary regional governance and democratic planning. He affirmed that his administration will consistently continue expanding advanced hospital facilities, empowering local communities, and preserving classical linguistic heritage with equal dedication.
