Chief Minister M.K. Stalin unveiled a comprehensive development package for Dharmapuri district, announcing the construction of a 250-crore road flyover to ease Dharmapuri-Salem traffic bottlenecks, a modern milk processing plant, and a SIPCOT industrial estate. Addressing a large gathering, Stalin distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries, dedicated completed infrastructure projects, and laid foundation stones for transformative civic works across the western district.
The Chief Minister noted that the new elevated corridor will significantly reduce transit time, lower transport costs, and enhance road safety for daily commuters and freight operators traveling along the busy economic corridor. He highlighted that establishing a state-of-the-art milk processing unit will support thousands of rural dairy farmers, ensuring fair procurement prices and strengthening cold-chain distribution. Additionally, setting up a specialized SIPCOT industrial park will attract manufacturing investments, creating durable employment opportunities for educated rural youth.
Stalin emphasized that balanced regional industrialization remains central to the Dravidian model of governance, ensuring that interior districts receive equal developmental focus alongside coastal cities. He directed district authorities to complete project tenders promptly and adhere strictly to execution deadlines to deliver tangible benefits to Dharmapuri residents.
