Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the newly established Tamil Nadu Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Corporation in collaboration with the Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, along with a state-of-the-art Solar Energy Center at Madurai Kamaraj University. Inaugurating these advanced technological facilities, Stalin underscored his administration's commitment to propelling Tamil Nadu to the forefront of global technological innovation and clean energy research.
The Chief Minister noted that Tamil Nadu already ranks first in India in higher education gross enrolment ratio, reflecting the egalitarian educational policies implemented under the Dravidian Model. To maintain this leadership in modern knowledge sectors, his government is investing heavily in emerging technologies like drone engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics, and renewable power systems. Stalin explained that the Drone Corporation will provide specialized training to young engineers, generate high-skill employment, and support agriculture, disaster management, and urban survey applications.
Stalin expressed confidence that integrating university academic excellence with practical industrial applications will foster groundbreaking discoveries and entrepreneurial ventures. He pledged continued state budgetary support to upgrade university laboratories, ensuring that Tamil Nadu youth compete successfully on the global stage.
