Paying solemn homage to language martyrs on Language Martyrs Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin saluted the fearless heroes who laid down their lives during the historic anti-Hindi agitations to protect Tamil linguistic dignity and cultural autonomy. Stalin affirmed that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam holds governing responsibility precisely to elevate and celebrate the true history, sacrifices, and self-respect of the Tamil people.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the historic contributions of Tamil Nadu to India's freedom struggle can never be erased by bureaucratic decisions. To ensure that citizens witness this proud legacy, Stalin announced that the splendid cultural tableau featuring statues of iconic Tamil freedom fighters like V.O. Chidambaranar, Rani Velu Nachiyar, and the Maruthu Pandiyar brothers—which was unfairly excluded from the New Delhi parade—would embark on an extensive public tour across Tamil Nadu.

Stalin emphasized that commemorating martyrs and celebrating patriotic ancestors strengthens regional self-respect and democratic resolve. He pledged that his government will continually safeguard the statutory two-language policy and ensure that Tamil culture and historical sacrifices receive their rightful place of honor across the national and international stage.
