The path towards #SocialJustice was not made in a day, but painstakingly laid over the decades, stone by stone, with sweat and blood of various trendsetters like Dr. Natesanar, Dr.T.M. Nair, Sir. P.Theagarayar, A.T.Paneerselvam, Panagal Arasar (1/n) https://t.co/qkW1USMvOe

Reflecting on the historical evolution of affirmative action in India, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid tribute to the pioneering leaders of the South Indian Liberal Federation, popularly known as the Justice Party. Stalin observed that the path toward social justice was not constructed overnight, but painstakingly built over decades, stone by stone, through the relentless sacrifices, intellectual clarity, and physical struggles of early reformers.
The Chief Minister recalled the monumental contributions of stalwarts such as Dr. C. Natesanar, Dr. T.M. Nair, Sir P. Theagaraya Chetty, A.T. Panneerselvam, and the Raja of Panagal. Under their leadership a century ago, the historic Communal Government Order of 1921 was enacted, establishing the first statutory framework for affirmative action and opening government employment to non-Brahmin communities. Stalin pointed out that this visionary legislative intervention transformed Tamil Nadu into the pioneering cradle of modern social justice.
Stalin reaffirmed that his government operates as a proud continuator of this transformative egalitarian heritage. He pledged to protect reservation rights across all public spheres, ensuring that the hard-won democratic entitlements established by Justice Party icons continue to uplift marginalized citizens nationwide.
