Marking Republic Day celebrations, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin declared that the courageous and sacrifice-filled history of Tamil freedom fighters will forever radiate like the bright sun in the hearts of the people. Stalin stated with deep conviction that no political authority or bureaucratic bias can ever diminish, conceal, or erase the monumental contributions made by Tamil Nadu to India's national independence movement.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the soil of Tamil Nadu gave birth to the earliest armed rebellions against colonial subjugation, decades before the 1857 mutiny. From the fearless defiance of Rani Velu Nachiyar and Veerapandiya Kattabomman to the maritime courage of V.O. Chidambaranar and the patriotic verses of Mahakavi Bharathi, the state played a foundational role in igniting national consciousness and anti-colonial resistance. Stalin observed that honoring these brave patriots is an enduring cultural responsibility for every Indian citizen.

Stalin reiterated that his administration is dedicated to documenting, celebrating, and disseminating Tamil Nadu's rich freedom legacy across India. He pledged to establish public memorials, historical publications, and cultural displays to ensure that coming generations draw lasting inspiration from these sacrifices.
