Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin hailed the re-adoption of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test exemption bill by the state legislative assembly as a golden milestone in the struggle for state autonomy and social justice. Convening a special legislative session after the Governor returned the earlier legislation, Stalin steered the bill to a historic, unanimous passage, demonstrating the collective democratic will of Tamil Nadu against discriminatory medical admissions.
Addressing lawmakers, the Chief Minister emphasized that NEET penalizes rural, state-board, and economically underprivileged students by imposing commercial coaching barriers. He reiterated that school qualifying marks provide the fairest metric for professional education admissions, reflecting years of sustained academic dedication. Stalin pointed out that constitutional propriety and established democratic norms obligate the Governor to transmit the re-passed legislation to the President of India without further delay.
Stalin affirmed that Tamil Nadu's legislative solidarity sends a clear message across the Indian Union regarding the sanctity of federal powers. He thanked all political parties that supported the measure, pledging that his administration will continue utilizing constitutional and legal remedies to eliminate entrance barriers and democratize higher education across the state.
