Editorial context

On Bonded Labour System Abolition Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin met representatives of the Rescued Bonded Labourers Welfare Association in Chennai, reiterating his government's resolve to eradicate forced labor in all forms. The delegation presented Stalin with handicraft products crafted through their own independent labor, symbolizing their successful rehabilitation and newfound self-reliance. Stalin expressed profound affection for the workers, commending their resilience and affirming that the state will vigorously protect their dignity, personal safety, and long-term economic security.

The Chief Minister stressed that the Dravidian movement was founded upon uncompromising resistance to subjugation and social exploitation. Guided by the principles of Thanthai Periyar and B.R. Ambedkar, his administration actively identifies hidden pockets of bonded labor, enforces stringent penal action against offending employers, and provides rescued families with housing land pattas, educational scholarships, and institutional credit support.

Stalin observed that true freedom requires economic independence and social dignity for the most vulnerable citizens. He directed labor and revenue departments to streamline rehabilitation procedures and monitor vulnerable industrial sectors, ensuring that every freed worker receives sustainable livelihood opportunities and humane working conditions across Tamil Nadu.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
