Addressing a well-attended virtual election rally in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented the governance achievements of his nine-month administration while campaigning for Secular Progressive Alliance candidates in the urban civic polls. Stalin shared the live video broadcast link to connect directly with town residents, farmers, small traders, and youth assembled across municipalities and town panchayats throughout the delta region.
The Chief Minister underscored that the DMK government had revitalized the delta economy by prioritizing prompt canal desilting, timely water release from the Mettur Dam, and specialized agricultural assistance, resulting in record-breaking paddy production. Stalin emphasized that vibrant delta municipalities require upgraded civic infrastructure—including well-maintained internal roads, storm drainage, reliable drinking water networks, and clean municipal markets—to support expanding urban populations and agricultural commerce.
Stalin urged voters to support the Secular Progressive Alliance to establish honest, progressive municipal administrations that work seamlessly with state ministries. Reaffirming his personal bond with Thanjavur as Kalaignar's native region, Stalin pledged that elected local bodies will safeguard civic welfare, maintain financial integrity, and deliver every state benefit directly to the people.
