Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed firm confidence that the sustained struggle to eliminate the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is approaching decisive success. In the second part of a statement on medical education equity, Stalin observed that principled opposition against the centralized examination is now reverberating strongly in neighboring Karnataka and other non-BJP ruled states, evolving into a unified nationwide movement for educational federalism.
The Chief Minister argued that NEET serves as an artificial, exclusionary barrier that systematically denies medical education opportunities to rural students, government school pupils, and economically marginalized communities. He pointed out that commercial coaching culture has distorted medical admissions, favoring privileged urban candidates while undermining the dedicated school curricula and healthcare infrastructure built by individual states.
Stalin called upon democratic parties, state administrations, and student organizations nationwide to unite in a collective constitutional struggle to dismantle the centralized testing system. He reiterated that Tamil Nadu will persist with its legal and legislative efforts to secure exemption, ensuring that public medical admissions return to state jurisdiction based on school academic performance and qualifying merit across all communities.
