Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin dispatched an urgent official communication to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, requesting immediate and targeted diplomatic intervention to evacuate large numbers of Tamil students stranded across dangerous combat zones in Ukraine. Stalin urged the Ministry of External Affairs to grant necessary clearances and diplomatic accreditation for a high-level state coordination team deputed to assist evacuation logistics across Eastern European transit corridors.

The proposed state delegation, comprising Members of Parliament, senior civil servants, and medical welfare coordinators, sought authorization to coordinate directly with Indian diplomatic missions operating in Romania, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. Stalin emphasized that on-ground liaison by state representatives would significantly accelerate student identification, expedite border clearance procedures, and provide immediate linguistic, psychological, and logistical assistance to traumatized scholars awaiting rescue flights.

Stalin reiterated that ensuring the safety and rapid repatriation of overseas students remains an urgent humanitarian duty of the government. He assured the Union government of full financial and administrative support from Tamil Nadu, pressing the Centre to operate additional charter flights to evacuate all remaining Indian citizens without further delay.
