Given the uncertain future faced by our students returning from #Ukraine, I have requested our Hon'ble @PMOIndia to intervene and enable these students to continue their studies in India. I've also assured him to offer unstinted support from Tamil Nadu Govt in this regard. https://t.co/7EEOstJw78

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin addressed an official communication to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Union government to intervene promptly to safeguard the academic careers of Indian students returning from war-ravaged Ukraine. Stalin highlighted the acute uncertainty and distress confronting thousands of medical scholars whose education was abruptly halted by armed hostilities, emphasizing that their future must not be left hanging in limbo.
The Chief Minister appealed to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the National Medical Commission to formulate an extraordinary accommodation framework allowing returning scholars to enroll in domestic medical colleges to complete their clinical curricula. Stalin assured the Prime Minister that the Tamil Nadu government is fully prepared to extend complete institutional and administrative cooperation to support the domestic integration of affected medical students across state institutions.
Stalin emphasized that the hard work, financial investments, and professional ambitions of young medical aspirants represent a vital national asset that must be protected during international humanitarian crises. He reiterated that cooperative federalism requires collaborative solutions between the Centre and states to ensure that displaced students can fulfill their educational ambitions without losing crucial academic years.
