Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reflected on the enduring industrial heritage of the state while inspecting the expanding Saint-Gobain manufacturing complex in Sriperumbudur. Stalin recalled that the landmark industrial facility was initially attracted to Tamil Nadu in 1998 through the visionary leadership and proactive industrial policy of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. He also reminisced about his prior official inspection of the manufacturing plant while serving as Deputy Chief Minister, noting the remarkable technological transformation achieved over subsequent decades.
The Chief Minister emphasized that pioneering industrial initiatives initiated under previous DMK administrations laid the groundwork for modern industrial corridors across Tamil Nadu. By providing strategic land allotments, reliable basic utilities, and stable administrative support, the state successfully nurtured long-term corporate partnerships that continue to generate substantial public revenues, advanced technical expertise, and extensive local employment across northern districts.
Stalin affirmed that his government remains dedicated to advancing this progressive industrial vision through the Dravidian model of governance. He stated that the ongoing modernization of industrial campuses like Saint-Gobain demonstrates the state enduring capacity to sustain multinational investments, foster world-class manufacturing standards, and ensure continuous economic prosperity for Tamil Nadu workforce.
