Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin commended the innovative Learn While Earn skill development initiative implemented at the Saint-Gobain manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur. Under this collaborative vocational training program, company workers pursue higher technical education up to professional diploma certifications while simultaneously earning regular livelihood wages on the shop floor. During his factory inspection, Stalin interacted personally with participating workers, discussing their academic progress, practical skills, and workplace experiences.
The Chief Minister praised the program as an exceptional model of corporate responsibility and human capital empowerment, urging other manufacturing conglomerates across Tamil Nadu to adopt similar apprenticeships. Stalin noted that integrating hands-on factory training with formal accredited academic qualifications enables young rural workers to upgrade technical qualifications, advance their careers, and attain long-term social mobility without financial interruption.
Stalin emphasized that workforce upskilling remains a central focus of state governance under the Dravidian model. The state government continues to partner with leading industries to create vocational pipelines, upgrade polytechnic institutes, and expand apprentice models, ensuring that Tamil Nadu consistently maintains India most proficient, productive, and technologically adaptable industrial labor force.
