Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended heartfelt gratitude to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for facilitating the prompt repatriation of Tamil Nadu students trapped amidst armed hostilities in Ukraine. Stalin also commended the dedicated state government coordination team, consisting of Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and senior administrative officials, who worked tirelessly across multiple transit borders to orchestrate safe and secure international passage.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the complex logistical challenges faced by rescue teams managing border crossings, transit shelters, and chartered air evacuations during severe military conflict. He noted that continuous, round-the-clock coordination between state representatives, the Ministry of External Affairs, and overseas Indian diplomatic missions ensured that stranded youth received vital food, winter protection, and repatriation flights back to India without avoidable delays or confusion.
Stalin underscored that safeguarding Tamil citizens during overseas crises constitutes an essential humanitarian responsibility of the state government. The administration established dedicated round-the-clock control rooms, provided free domestic travel assistance, and ensured smooth family reunions, demonstrating highly responsive crisis management and institutional solidarity throughout the entire international evacuation and repatriation mission.
