Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated an advanced comprehensive cancer care center at Rela Hospital in Chennai, expanding modern oncology treatment facilities across the state. The specialized clinical facility offers multidisciplinary cancer care, including precision oncology diagnostics, robotic surgical treatment, chemotherapy, and advanced radiation therapy. During the opening ceremony, Stalin met young children who underwent complex liver and bone marrow transplants supported by the Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.
The Chief Minister commended hospital specialists, transplant surgeons, nurses, and healthcare staff for delivering high-level tertiary medical interventions to economically vulnerable families. He expressed deep personal satisfaction seeing children resume healthy, active lives after receiving life-saving surgeries funded entirely through state welfare programs. Stalin emphasized that universal healthcare access remains an indispensable component of social welfare governance under the Dravidian model.
Stalin reaffirmed that his administration is actively modernizing government medical colleges, district headquarters hospitals, and primary health centers across Tamil Nadu. The state government continues to expand insurance coverage limits and empanel specialized tertiary centers, ensuring that low-income households receive cutting-edge medical treatments without financial catastrophe or crippling household debt.
