Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held a high-level official meeting with the state Governor, presenting him with a copy of the book The Dravidian Model. During the meeting, Stalin formally urged the Governor to expedite action on various crucial legislative bills passed by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly that were awaiting gubernatorial clearance. Most notably, Stalin pressed for immediate transmission of the historic anti-NEET exemption bill to the President of India for presidential assent.
Stalin informed the public that during the discussions, the Governor provided a clear assurance that the anti-NEET bill would be forwarded to the President without undue delay. The Chief Minister emphasized that the legislation reflects the unanimous democratic will of the eight crore people of Tamil Nadu, enacted to protect rural and disadvantaged students from an inherently biased examination system. He stressed that gubernatorial delays undermine legislative sovereignty and parliamentary democracy.
Reiterating his administration commitment to constitutional propriety and federal autonomy, Stalin maintained that governors must function within constitutional parameters and respect the collective decisions of elected legislatures. He assured students and parents that his government will pursue every democratic and legal avenue to secure permanent exemption from NEET, safeguarding social justice in medical education.
