Speaking in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin detailed comprehensive administrative interventions designed to improve road safety and drastically reduce accident fatalities across the state. Stalin highlighted the flagship Innuyir Kaappom - Nammai Kaakkum 48 initiative, which provides cashless emergency medical care up to one lakh rupees during the critical first forty-eight hours following a road accident. The scheme covers victims across designated network hospitals irrespective of their state of origin or economic background.
Stalin informed legislators that the government has also introduced cash awards and certificates of commendation for Good Samaritans who promptly transport road accident victims to nearby trauma centers. Recognizing compassionate citizens encourages timely intervention during the crucial golden hour, directly saving valuable human lives. The Chief Minister noted that engineering interventions, black-spot rectifications on highways, and enhanced vehicular monitoring are being systematically executed alongside hospital emergency upgrades.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that protecting human life is the supreme objective of progressive administration. Stalin assured the assembly that his government will persistently enforce road safety standards, strengthen trauma care networks, and promote compassionate civic participation, ensuring that Tamil Nadu highways become safer for motorists, pedestrians, and families statewide.
