Commemorating World Water Day, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin invoked the ancient wisdom of poet-philosopher Thiruvalluvar, citing the immortal kural that life on earth cannot exist without water. Stalin emphasized that freshwater is nature most precious gift, urging society to protect, replenish, and manage water supplies with supreme responsibility and scientific prudence. He noted that sound ecological management of water bodies directly safeguards human survival, rural agriculture, and urban sustainability.

Stalin reiterated his administration resolute commitment to ensuring safe, clean, and reliable drinking water for every household across Tamil Nadu. Through extensive pipeline expansions, decentralized purification plants, and lake rejuvenation initiatives, the government is systematically bridging regional supply gaps. Stalin highlighted that equitable water distribution remains a basic human entitlement under the Dravidian model of governance, prioritizing rural habitations and marginalized communities that historically faced chronic water scarcity.

The Chief Minister called upon local bodies, educational institutions, and civic organizations to spearhead collective water conservation campaigns. Stalin stressed that reviving traditional tanks, checking industrial contamination, and implementing household rainwater harvesting will guarantee enduring water security, preserving precious aquatic ecosystems for future generations across the state.
