Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin shared live proceedings of the grand inaugural ceremony of the Periyar Memorial Samathuvapuram established at Kozhuvari in Viluppuram district. The event was streamed live to allow citizens, social activists, and political observers across Tamil Nadu and abroad to witness the revitalization of one of the state most iconic egalitarian welfare schemes. Stalin noted that the live broadcast underscores his administration pride in advancing rationalist and anti-caste ideals through concrete public action.
The Kozhuvari Samathuvapuram features one hundred well-built concrete houses allocated proportionately among various caste communities, including Scheduled Castes, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes, and minority groups. The complex is fully equipped with paved roads, street lighting, potable piped water connections, a modern community hall, and an integrated children play area. Stalin highlighted that living in close physical proximity with shared community infrastructure dismantles deep-rooted caste prejudices and builds genuine fraternity.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government pledge to restore and expand Samathuvapurams across Tamil Nadu. He asserted that the Dravidian model governance remains unyieldingly committed to establishing a caste-free, harmonious society where every citizen enjoys equal dignity, social security, and unhindered opportunities to flourish.
