Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin flagged off an advanced fleet of mobile hospital vehicles, marking a significant expansion of the flagship Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam doorstep medical initiative. Speaking at the launch ceremony in Chennai, Stalin affirmed that quality public healthcare must be accessible within immediate reach of every resident. He emphasized that the Dravidian model governance ensures that specialized medical screening, essential medications, and diagnostic care reach ordinary citizens directly at their doorsteps.
The mobile hospitals are fully equipped with diagnostic apparatus, vital screening tools, and trained medical personnel to serve remote habitations, rural hamlets, and underserved urban slums. These vehicular units conduct regular health checkups for hypertension, diabetes, maternal wellness, and geriatric ailments, reducing the burden on crowded government hospitals. Stalin observed that proactive early diagnosis prevents serious health complications and protects families from catastrophic out-of-pocket medical expenditures.
The Chief Minister commended public health officials and frontline field workers for making Tamil Nadu a national benchmark in accessible community medicine. Stalin reaffirmed that his administration remains dedicated to delivering comprehensive wellness solutions, ensuring that every citizen, irrespective of geographic location or economic background, enjoys dignified health security and preventative medical care.
