Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened the high-level State Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for the second time within just one year of assuming office. Stalin pointed out that during the previous decade under AIADMK rule, this vital statutory committee was neglected and rarely convened, depriving marginalized communities of administrative oversight. He highlighted that his administration has already implemented 85 percent of the resolutions and demands raised during the first committee meeting.
Addressing committee members, including legislators, social activists, and senior bureaucrats, the Chief Minister reviewed the enforcement of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and scrutinized fund allocations under special component plans. He issued strict instructions to district collectors and police superintendents to ensure prompt registration of cases, expedited investigations, and timely disbursement of victim compensation. Stalin committed to examining and fulfilling all fresh proposals submitted during the session.
Stalin reaffirmed that social justice, economic upliftment, and physical protection for Dalit and tribal communities constitute non-negotiable governance principles. He declared that his administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that affirmative policies deliver tangible social empowerment across Tamil Nadu.
