Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin shared valuable guidance with newly elected local body representatives, urging them to conduct public service with deep responsibility and accessibility. Recalling the exemplary career of former Gopalapuram councillor Jesudas, Stalin highlighted that Jesudas was so devoted to community welfare that even voters supporting rival parties consistently voted for him in civic elections. He explained that grassroots representatives have a unique opportunity to build direct personal bonds with everyday citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasized that municipal governance is the closest level of administration to ordinary families. When elected functionaries inspect street cleaning, ensure functional streetlights, resolve drainage issues, and assist families during civic emergencies, they establish unshakeable public trust. Stalin cautioned representatives against complacency, stating that electoral success must translate into continuous, humble, and tireless public service without arrogance or partisan discrimination.
Stalin reaffirmed that the Dravidian model governance prioritizes integrity, efficiency, and empathetic civic administration across urban and rural local bodies. He urged all mayors, chairpersons, and ward members to lead by personal example, dedicating their daily energies to building clean, healthy, and prosperous communities throughout Tamil Nadu.
