Editorial context

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid reverent homage to legal luminary and social revolutionary Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, celebrated across Tamil Nadu as Equality Day. Stalin emphasized that Ambedkar radical philosophy provided the intellectual foundation to eradicate caste untouchability, dismantle entrenched hegemony, and empower marginalized communities to attain constitutional power. He observed that Ambedkar lifelong struggle continues to inspire progressive movements fighting social discrimination and reactionary dogmatism throughout India.

The Chief Minister called upon citizens to reject the insidious forces of communal hatred, caste division, and social hierarchy that corrupt society. He stressed that observing Equality Day is not merely a ceremonial gesture, but an unyielding collective pledge to eliminate social prejudices and affirm that all individuals are born equal. Stalin pointed out that the Dravidian movement and Ambedkarite philosophy share a common vision of self-respect, rationalism, and democratic emancipation.

Stalin affirmed that his administration remains dedicated to advancing Ambedkar vision of liberty, equality, and fraternity. He reiterated that Tamil Nadu will persist in expanding educational opportunities, economic independence, and social dignity for oppressed sections, building an enlightened and caste-free society.
