DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered a scathing critique of the Union BJP Government, pointing out that over the past eight years, India has confronted grave systemic challenges, chief among them being the alarming tendency of nominated officials to undermine elected state governments and erode democratic norms. Stalin declared that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has consistently maintained an unyielding, principled stand against such undemocratic overreach.
The party president highlighted that appointed authorities, particularly gubernatorial offices, have increasingly overstepped their constitutional boundaries by obstructing legislation passed by sovereign state assemblies, withholding statutory assent, and directly interfering in administrative functions. Stalin stressed that such improper practices violate the foundational tenets of parliamentary democracy and subvert the expressed will of the voting public who elect their state legislators.
Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will not remain a silent spectator while constitutional safeguards and regional rights are systematically dismantled. He stated that defending democratic institutions requires relentless resistance across legislative, legal, and public arenas throughout India. The Chief Minister urged all democratic forces across Indian states to form a united front to protect state autonomy from autocratic centralization and institutional decay.
