Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department successfully recovered encroached temple lands, buildings, and properties valued at more than two thousand crore rupees during the first year of DMK governance. Stalin released an official documentation book compiling comprehensive records, survey numbers, and geo-tagged details of all reclaimed religious assets across the state.
The Chief Minister stated that the systematic retrieval of temple assets represents just the beginning of a sustained, transparent campaign to protect religious endowments from unlawful usurpation. He instructed department officials to deploy modern digital mapping, land surveying technologies, and rigorous legal follow-ups to reclaim remaining encroached temple properties and restore them to respective temple administrations for public and ritual utility.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian model of governance operates with impartiality and respect for all communities, ensuring disciplined stewardship of public and religious institutions alike. He stressed that safeguarding temple properties from commercial exploitation guarantees that devotional traditions and temple social service initiatives flourish unhindered. Reaffirming his administration commitment to good governance, Stalin pledged that all recovered assets will be properly maintained and protected for posterity.
